We arrived in Italy on Wednesday, set up our bike, then tried to prepare for a weekend of international motocross competition. Mike made a solid effort to compete on this wet and very deeply rutted sand track ,where the site of the grand prix of Italy will be held in late September .However ,a sore shoulder from a crash last week ,left him not strong enough to race at 100% ,hence the decision was made to sit out the event ,and try again next weekend .

Cairoli , Desalle ,Ramone were flat out fast in these conditions!
MEDLEY
Team KTM unveiled their new team infrastructure this weekend in Mantova ...VERY IMPRESSIVE!
DEVELOPMENT PERIOD: this is Mike Alessi in action at Mantova during the Starcross event .Mike will be riding more events during this bike and rider development period .
ALMOST TO CHINA: there were over 20 ruts in the faces of most jumps ,and some were so deep you could almost see china.

Today we prepare for our first leg of a three week Alessi euro tour ....we arrive in Italy later this week to begin testing our European grand prix mx-1 race bike then head over to a Mantova,Italy for the first international gathering of the season called the Starcross .After the Starcross the next event will be in Montevarchi for the Italian championship opening round ,then to Valence for the international race of France ! Our last day riding was at a track called Bostwick Creek motocross in Green Cove Springs Florida.

There are very fast riders in Europe ... Here are some that come to mind..our team mates Cairoli and Nagle then 2008 world champ philliparts ,and would be champion Josh Coppins ,along with Duruver ,Pourcel ,and Leok ,and Steve Ramone ,Stribos ,and the Belgian kid who raced to a top three at Washougal all very very fast !
MEDLEY
Mike got a little banged up the last day of riding ,and will make an effort to race the pre season opener at the Mantova Starcross , this will be determined after testing our bike on Thursday , strange as it might be Travis Pastrana broke his clavicle at the same place earlier in the week .
ALL ABOARD: Mike and crew ship off to Europe tomorrow ...first stop Mantova Italy!

Dear Jeff,
Words alone can't express how much it meant to me for you to take the time to have your picture taken with my kids. After two years of saving to buy the tickets, and then hours of standing in line to meet riders who ultimately refused to say hello to their fans, what you did made such a huge impression on my family. The kids talked all day about how cool you are and then they were cheering for you the entire race. Your simple act of kindness has endeared you to them for a lifetime. Thank you for setting an example for my kids as how to be welcoming and gracious to others. As a parent, I congratulate your parents on doing an excellent job raising such a kind man.
